What happened in Cyprus

Cyprus has a well-established community of British expatriates. During 2015–2024, a number of UK nationals resident in Cyprus received pension transfer advice linked to Holistic Pension Transfer Specialists Ltd (FRN 747407), a UK FCA-authorised firm that provided DB transfer specialist sign-off.

The FSCS declared Holistic PTS in default in July 2024 and the firm was formally dissolved in February 2025. Because Holistic PTS held FCA authorisation, affected clients — including those resident in Cyprus — can access Route 3 FSCS claims up to £85,000 per person per firm. For losses above this, Route 4 civil litigation is assessed.

Who this affects

UK nationals resident in Cyprus who received pension transfer advice linked to Holistic PTS, or who were advised on UK pension transfers by any other FCA-authorised firm while living in Cyprus.

Questions & Answers

Frequently Asked Questions

I am a British expat in Cyprus. Can I claim through the FSCS?
Yes. The FSCS is available to UK nationals regardless of current residence, provided the advising firm held FCA authorisation — which Holistic PTS (FRN 747407) did.
My loss is more than £85,000. What are my options?
Route 4 civil litigation is uncapped. We assess Route 4 alongside Route 3 for all cases where losses may exceed £85,000.
