What happened

Brite Advisory Group operated primarily in Australia and the UAE, advising UK nationals to transfer pensions into QROPS and SIPP structures. The firm has been linked to over £2.37 billion in transfer volume and potentially over 10,000 affected clients globally.

Route 4 civil litigation through our SRA-regulated solicitor partner panel is the primary route — fully uncapped. Route 2 FOS is assessed in parallel where UK FOS jurisdiction can be established. The Court of Appeal's Fletcher [2024] decision has significantly strengthened the legal basis for these claims.

Who this affects

UK nationals in Australia, UAE, Singapore, or elsewhere who were advised by Brite Advisory to transfer their UK defined benefit or DC pension into a QROPS or SIPP structure.

Route 2

Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS)

Independent government-backed adjudication after the firm rejects or fails to respond within 8 weeks. Also available directly where FOS has established jurisdiction over an overseas-linked case.

FOS awards up to £455,000 (advice from 1 April 2019) or £200,000 (advice before 1 April 2019). Both limits rise annually with inflation.
